Nature based home decor themes help to beat heat in summerThemes of home decoration are an important part while revamping decoration in summer. It is best to opt for nature based themes as it brings coolness feel to home.

Mumbai-based home and interiors boutique, The Great Eastern Home, has a variety of Kilims, which work on the idea of keeping the temperature of the floor and the room stable.

Kilims are thin rugs made of cotton and wool which affect the temperature of the room in a positive way. These are priced at Rs 45,000 onwards and can be placed anywhere to offer a feeling of comfort and luxury in summer.

It also uplifts the look of the floor be it wood, granite, marble or any other flooring material," says.

Linens in soft material and shades also help to create a soothing effect. EVOK, the home fashion mega store`s spring summer collection of furniture, furnishings and bath accessories offers a good variety to beat the summer heat.

Floral prints have been given significance as also preference to natural-abstract forms. These are priced between Rs 1,200 and Rs 3,000, the floral prints and light shades in furnishings and towels are appropriate for summer.

It cuts the heat effectively and gives effective ventilation."

One of the easy ways of cooling a room is to change its colour scheme and add cool colours like calming shades of blue, green or lilac. The latest trend is to use coloured accessories in transparent or translucent materials such as glass or crystal to offer a breezy accent to a room.

Meenakshi Salve, designer and owner, Ame De Verre, a luxury boutique of art decoratives, said that a leading global trend in the spring-summer home decor collection has been the use of patterns inspired from nature.
