The gritty actress, whose battle with Cancer inspired millions, is now up and running. Manisha recently attended a fund-raiser dance show in Kathmandu.
Manisha, who was in Kolkata a couple of days back, along with Yuvraj Singh to spread awareness against the life-threatning disease is back in her hometown and also trying her best to get back into the grove by attending events and shows.
The fund-raiser show took place in Kathmandu, Nepal to promote both the empowerment of women and the Arts in Nepal and were led by NGO Tewa and Sushila Arts Academy respectively (SAA).The event consisted of a blend of arts from East and West, featuring Bharatnatyam from India, Charya from Nepal and Classical Flamenco from Spain. Sushila Arts Academy, named in the honor of Manisha Koirala's grandmother, the wife of first democratically elected Prime Minister BP Koirala is run by Yulia Koirala, sister-in-law of Manisha and aims to create the next generation of artists in Nepal.
The Academy's mission is to Hone talented and committed Nepali children and youth into gifted artists, musicians, dancers and actors so that they can achieve their fullest potential as global citizens through talent, character development and professionalism. Individual personalities should be developed in a holistic way through the Arts, as it is the basis of all education.
The show was well attended with many public figures with the Indian Ambassador to Nepal as a Chief Guest. Manisha Koirala and Mrs.Ambica Shrestha, Honorary Consul of Spain have graced the show as Guests of Honor. Supporters included Mr. Hemant Puranik, Tata Motors Country Manage the Main Supporter of Scholarship program at Sushila Arts Academy. Other supporters include the well-known organization "Being Human".
