Bharti Airtel Ltd, leading integrated telecom services provider of the country, has announced the removal of `95` dialing for long distance calling on its fixed line service.
The directive from Department of Telecom (DoT) has resulted the withdrawal. Fixed line customers would now be able to call these numbers, earlier accessed through 95, by activating the STD facility and dialing the city STD codes prefixed with `0`.
According to a Company press release, Airtel is also offering customers the convenience of not activating their STD facility, but continuing to access cities which are within 500 kms of a telecom circle and less than 50 kms of the adjoining Circle.
The Airtel users just need to dial the city STD code prefixed with 0. They would have to activate the STD facility by calling 121 from the Airtel fixed line number to access numbers outside this perimeter.
The release added that customers will continue to be billed for all calls as per the prevailing tariff
