 The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. (MTDC) is celebrating the 37th anniversary of its foundation today. The Corporation was founded on January 20, 37 years ago for the development of tourism in the state.
Since its establishment, MTDC has taken efforts to promote and develop tourism in the state. Some of the projects undertaken by the Corporation include the Ajanta Ellora Development Project- Phase I & Phase II, which was completed with help from the Japanese Government; and The Deccan Odyssey Train, benchmarked against the Blue Train of Europe, which covers major tourist attractions of the state. The tourism body also has a host of projects lined up under the Twelfth Finance Commission Provisions.
