 Kolkata: Delhi youngster Honey Baisoya scored the biggest win of the quarter-finals in the Goodricke Eastern India Matchplay golf championships. Baisoya was four up with four to play against the experienced Manav Das when he also won the 15th hole to close the match 5&3.
Honey will now run into another teenaged prodigy, Khalin Joshi of Bangalore. Joshi beat SK Pappu 2-up.
In the top half of the draw, Angad Cheema halted the run of Simarjeet Singh with a 2&1 win.
Delhi's Gagan Verma, who beat Bangalore's Trishul Chinappa in the previous round, was eliminated by another Bangalore player, Seenappa Chikkrangappa, the reigning All India Amateur Matchplay champion. He beat Verma 2&1.
In the semi-final, Chikka will take on Angad Cheema, while Honey Baisoya meets Khalin Joshi.
