Haryana registers their third consecutive win by beating Himachal Pradesh

Chennai: Haryana defeated Himachal Pradesh 101-64 to register their third consecutive win in the 62nd Senior National Basketball Championship on Tuesday.

Haryana were dominant from the outset as they scored 28 points in the first quarter to Himachal Pradesh's nine. Vikash Mor and Hemant Sheoran were on the mark scoring 32 and 24 points for Haryana.

Himachal Pradesh's Surjeet Singh, who scored 26 points, tried his best to keep up with the free scoring Haryana in the next three quarters but it proved to be too much.

Karnataka coming at the back of consecutive victories in the tournament put up another impressive show, edging out Rajasthan 73-62. In the first two quarters, both teams were neck and neck but the third quarter proved to be the turning point in favour of Karnataka (27-18).

Rajasthan came back strongly in the fourth but their effort was too little too late.

In the women's category, Kerala thrashed Rajasthan 60-19. Jeena P.S top scored for Kerala with 21 points. The Southern team put up a stingy defensive performance, hardly letting Rajasthan score.
