 M A Tejani, MD, Gits Foods, has been unanimously elected as president of All India Food Processors' Association (AIFPA). Recently, he took over the reins of the association from past president and Rasna chief Piruz Khambatta.
This was informed by K L Radhakrishnan, chief editor, to FnB News. He informed that the presidentship of Tejani was confirmed at the annual general meeting of the association on December 16.
"I have completed my two years term as president of All India Food Processors' Association and I am sure that now under the able hands and guidance of M A Tejani, president, AIFPA, our association will grow further," explained Khambatta.
Some of the initiatives taken up under Khambatta's leadership include reconstruction / reactivation of national / zonal / state councils and secretariat involving educationists, technocrats, scientists, quality control labs, farmer groups, consumer groups at all levels, GST (goods and services tax) and VAT (value- added tax) and post-budget and pre-budget recommendations.
