Aligarh: The Bihar government on Friday transferred 224.02 acres of land in Kishanganj district to the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) for establishing a centre in the state, a varsity statement said.
Two Bihar ministers and the local MP and the legislator, AMU Vice Chancellor P.K. Abdul Azis and officials, and state government officials were present on the occasion.
The Bihar government assured all possible support in providing the necessary infrastructure for the new centre, including roads, an electricity substation as well as water lines to the campus.
The Vice Chancellor also said that if the state government provides temporary accommodation, the university hopes to launch some of its programmes in the next academic session itself.
