 Aligarh: The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has been successful in developing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) resources in its campus as per the standards of other prestigious institutions of nation.
Prof. Qazi Mazhar Ali, Director, Computer Centre, Aligarh Muslim University said that the Ministry of Information Technology, Government of India specially chartered the BSNL 3G/Wimax connectivity to the University after the completion of all erection and installation work.
The connections will be provided to the research scholars, students, employees, faculty members as well as the students of Women's college and other University School at concessional rates.
Prof. Mazhar informed 3G/Wimax connectivity will be available via BSNL installed towers and related equipment at nine location of campus. Two exchanges have been erected by BSNL, one at main BSNL Telephone Exchange and other in Medical Colony along with similar set of equipment.
He further added that the 3G mobile connection for internet and telephony can be availed without any activation charges.
