The life and times of one of history's most fascinating figures, Marie Antoinette, caught designer Shantanu Goenka's fancy as he showcased his entire spring-summer 2012 range at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week on the Palace of Versailles, the hub of French monarchy in the 18th century.
A cobblestone ramp fringed with green grass, a massive planter placed in the centre and wooden fencing on either side, awaited the audience at Goenka's Chateau de Versailles. As the lights came on, young ladies of royalty were seen gossiping with each other from behind the fence, while another set of them strolled out of the palace doors onto the cobbled ramp.
