 Chennai: N Leelakrishnan was unstoppable in the Saloon car segment races in the fifth round of JK Tyre National Racing championship where he scored a memorable double victory, turning the clock back to his prime days in the 1990s.
The 47-year-old Rad Racing driver had won Race 1 on Saturday and was equally dominant in Sunday's Race 2 at the Irrungatukottai Race Track near here, beating V Rajvirudhan of Prime Racing and Siddharth Kishore of Performance Racing to the chequered flag.
However, Rajvirudhan still leads the championship table, his quest for crown helped further as nearest rival and Leela's teammate Radha Selvaraj failed to start Race 1 and blew his engine during Race 2 to return without any points from the weekend.
