Tagore's 'Purano shei diner kotha' (remembering the old times) reverberated through the stage as the spotlight shifted on a model in silk churidar kurta with a scarlet stole wrapped casually, wearing library glasses and clutching the 'Gitabitan'.
For the uninitiated, Gitabitan is an anthology of Rabindranath Tagore's songs, which every Bengali, whether or not into music, swears with. And by introducing thinking men and women on the ramp, young designer Joy Mitra created a cultural atmosphere on the afternoon of Day 5 of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2012.
Joy's way of remembering the great poet on the year of his 150th birth anniversary was special. He set out by playing an AV on how the Nobel laureate is an inspiration for many.
