 Delhi-based sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and his sons Amaan and Ayaan recently performed at the Metropolitan Museum in New York as a part of their US Tour titled 'Khans in Concert'.
Their performance at The Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium at the MeT, as it's commonly referred to, was quite well-received, with many intellectuals, artists and musicians among the audience, including Salman Rushdie.
"New York is a cultural capital and many trends originate in NY. And then, the MeT is among the most prestigious museums and venues in the US," says Ayaan. "Their inclusion of us in their season was a big honour. Plus, it's a big support when someone like Rushdie, someone doing well in their field, is present." The concert was organized by Incredible India along with The Indo-American Arts Council, in partnership with the MeT.
