 After his critically acclaimed film A Wednesday, director Neeraj Pandey is all set to work with Akshay Kumar in his next Based on the 1987 Opera House jewellery theft. Akki will essay the role of the man who masterminded the elaborately planned heist.
After making A Wednesday, Neeraj Pandey, unlike other directors, did not go on a filmmaking spree. He wanted to make his next film only when he is sure of the script. And now, after working on the script for almost one and a half years, Neeraj is ready to get on to his next venture.
The film is based on the infamous robbery of 1987, when 26 conmen posing as income tax officials raided a famous jewellery store in Opera House, Mumbai. They had walked away with jewels worth lakhs. This incident shocked jewellers across Zaveri Bazaar.
