 Srinagar: Austrian Helmut Frauwallner and Suresh Rana won the extreme two-wheeler and extreme-four wheeler categories in the 13th Raid De Himalaya motor rally, which ended on Monday.
The annual rally - an off-road racing spectacle in the rugged and inhospitable Himalayan terrain - had begun on October 9 from Shimla before finishing off at the Royal Springs Golf Course, on the banks of Dal lake.
The rallyists went via Manali-Leh-Rangdon (Zanskar), which comprises of one of the world's most dangerous roads.
A member of the organising committee of the Raid-de-Himalaya, Navdeep Thareja, said interim results show Rana winning the extreme four-wheeler category, Frauwallner winning in extreme two-wheeler section and Umesh Raheja-Yogesh Raheja, the brother duo, winning the adventure category.
