Hyderabad: Nampally, one of the busiest commercial centres in the city will now host a cultural space dedicated to Urdu language and literature. In a month's time, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (Manuu) will start Urdu Ghar where ghazals and other cultural and literary events related to the Urdu language will be held. This is part of an academic initiative towards reviving the dying language.
The university is eyeing Haj House, Nampally to house the centre, which will also act as the institute's city campus. Talks are on with Haj Committee authorities and a deal will be struck soon to take part of the sprawling building on rent.
