Allahabad: Uttar Pradesh police has launched drives and search operations in different parts of the city.
According to police sources, criminals active in districts of Meerut, Ghaziabad, Mathura, Agra and Bulandshahr are staying in rented accommodation in city's old and posh areas. Keeping this in mind, specific drives were launched on Wednesday in pockets of Kotwali, Kareli, Attarsuiya, Colonelganj, Dhoomanganj, Cantt, Georgetown, Kydganj, Shivkuti and Civil Lines.
The police have sought the assistance of landlords appealing them to co-operate with the police to ascertain the credential of persons having dubious character. The police have checked the credential of 200 persons.
