Kochi: Largest container vessel, Maersk Sembawang, with a length of 318.79 metres and a capacity of 6,478 TEUs arrived at the Vallarpadam port in Kerala.
Talking to mediapersons, Senior VP and Managing Director of DP World Subcontinent (a branch of DP World), Anil Singh said that the International Container Transshipment Terminal (ICTT) with its crucial location in the subcontinent region had emerged as one of the most important ports in India's growing trade.
"It's a very proud moment for us. Like I said earlier that it was a dream and that dream has been realised and I hope that we would see much bigger vessels coming into Kochi and this would become the best port on the Indian subcontinent," said Singh.
