Konkan Railway resumes service

Mangalore: Konkan railway officials have resumed operation in the affected sections between Ratnagiri and Nivsar for traffic at 3.02 pm on Thursday.

The first train, 12617 Ernakulam-Nizamuddin Mangala Express left Nivsar at 5.29 pm and passed the site at about 5.52 pm.

Siddheshwar Telugu, deputy general manager and chief public relations officer, Konkan Railway said that the corporation had hired about 402 buses to transship its stranded passengers between Ratnagiri - Nivsar and Kudal - Kankavali transshipping about 20,12 passengers, apart from providing them with snacks, drinking water and portage facilities.
