HP government enhances power subsidy by Rs 20 crore
 

Shimla: Himachal State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERC) announced increased power subsidy amount by Rs 20 crore.

"The government is paying subsidy of Rs 146 crore at present to subsidize the Domestic consumers and it would be increased to Rs 166 crore to provide relief to the domestic consumers hit by the power tariff hike," Chief Minister P K Dhumal said.

However Chief Minister said BPL consumers and non-BPL consumers would continue to get electricity at the rate of 70 paise and Rs 1 per unit, respectively, up to 40 units, while there would be no change in tariff for LT category Agricultural consumers getting power at the rate of 50 paise per unit.
