Ahmedabad: An initiative called 'GTU Innovation Council' started jointly by Gujarat Technological University.
Society for Research and Initiatives for Sustainable Technologies and Institutions (Sristi) has been given 'Best Jury Award for Interface Between Academia and Industry in Higher Education' at the summit held at New Delhi from July 13 to 15.
However GTU Innovation Council has arrangements for students that let MSMEs in the state point out real-life problems faced by them.
While the students get credits for the project, the MSMEs get solutions to their industrial problems.
The varsity's vice-chancellor Akshai Aggarwal said, "The idea of GTU Innovation Council is to rekindle passion for innovation in the young minds, encourage them and make them the agents of change. The initiative need not be limited to the state but shall spread through India."
