Palanpur: Patan district panchayat has launched a closed user group (CUG) and SMS-based attendance verification system (AVS) so that officials at district headquarters can remain in touch with employees at remotest places in the district.
The AVS, a data-based device, has been christened Patan Present Please (PPP) and is being implemented for the first time. It is being installed in collaboration with a private mobile operator which will develop the software and provide free handsets.
PPP will be a boon for backward areas which remain cut off during monsoon and other calamities. It will facilitate the administration to reach out to the masses and help implement various welfare schemes like Taluka Sarkar, Gram Swagat, Garib Kalyan Mela. The funding for the project will be managed locally
