Vadodara: Newly-appointed M S University vice-chancellor (VC) professor Yogesh Singh took charge on Thursday has his eyes set on promoting academic research.
While Singh's appointment was declared on June 10, he was waiting for a formal deputation from the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIU) at Delhi where he was a professor in the University School of Information Technology (IT).
Speaking for the first time to the media after his arrival here, Singh said that amongst his priorities would be the task of creating a conducive research environment for students of the university. "We should provide them all possible facilities equivalent to what is available internationally," he said.
Singh said research environment could be improved in areas where it is already being undertaken and could be created where it lags. "We can also explore scholarships for research in the university," he said.
