Kanpur: A green channel counter (GCC) was opened for the public at the State Bank of India's main branch on the occasion of its 56th anniversary.
SBI's deputy general manager Raj Tilak said at the counter, a customer could withdraw, deposit and transfer funds from one account to another up to Rs 40,000 in a day.
Beside opening of the green channel counter, sapling plantation on main building campus, health camp and distribution of gifts and sweets at orphanage were also held on the occasion. Ajay Srivastava, another SBI official, informed that the bank had adopted 27 girl students and was responsible for their complete academic expenditure, including fee.
Later in the evening, a quiz was organised in which bank employees, customers and pensioners participated. Senior bank officials were also present on the occasion.
