Punjab government collaborates with NGOs to set up centralised kitchens

Chandigarh: The Punjab government has decided to set up centralized kitchens through NGOs.

The NGOs are going to supply quality mid-day meals to students in government schools.

State Education Minister Sewa Singh Sekhwan said on Sunday that in the first phase, the centralized kitchens will be set up in eight districts -- Patiala, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Bathinda, Mohali, Sangrur and Moga.

The mid-day meal is being provided to over 18 lakh students in the state.
