Guwahati: Union DoNER minister BK Handique inaugurated a hostel-cum-guest house at the B Barooah Cancer Institute (BBCI) on Monday.
The hostel has been constructed with a special financial assistance of Rs 1.64 crores from the North Eastern Council (NEC) and the department of atomic energy.
However the hostel would provide boarding facility for 32 students and six rooms for visiting faculties and other visitors.
Along with this the institute has also started a course in radiological physics, which would start from July 16. Other than that, the institute has been recently affiliated by the Srimanta Sankardeva University of Health Sciences, Assam.
