Ahmedabad: The West London residents remember Jignesh Patel as the artist who raised pound 5,000 for Japan earthquake victims and in the process set the record for world's largest foot painting.
During the event at Ealing Common ground in west London on May 29, Patel spread a 16,000 feet-long canvass and people left their footprints on it. The money raised through the event was given to Japan Society Tohoku Earthquake Relief Fund.
However, Patel has moved back to Ahmedabad and plans to organise such events in the city to promote its heritage.
In 2003, Patel created a world record for creating a 5,100 sq ft finger painting in Vancouver. The painting was created to spread peace among Indian and Pakistani communities in Canada. Patel was even awarded by a Pakistani association for working towards peace between the people of the two countries.
