Bhubaneswar: The much-awaited city bus service was launched in Puri on Wednesday.
Chief minister Naveen Patnaik, who was in the town to oversee preparations for the ensuing Rath Yatra, flagged off the public transport system under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) scheme.
Though 25 buses were allotted to Puri under the scheme, the private operator Dream Team Sahara (DTS) procured only five buses in the first phase. Government has identified "Puri-Bhubaneswar road" as the only designated route to ply the "green rider" buses.
