Chandigarh: Haryana Fisheries Department has imposed a ban on fishing by nets in the notified waters of the state up to August 31 under the Haryana Fisheries Rules, 1996.
A spokesman of the department said that this being the breeding season for the fish, the period up to August 31 would be a close season for fishing.
Catching or killing fish in the notified waters by dynamite or electric current or by any other harmful explosive was also prohibited, he added.
