Mumbai: Apeejay Surrendra Group, which owns and operates The Park Hotels, plans to bolster its presence in West Bengal by opening its second hotel in Kolkata by 2014.
The hotel will have 250 rooms and 100 serviced apartments.
Skidmore Owings & Merrill LLP, a US-based architecture firm will design the hotel. The hotel is part of a larger plan to expand the group's reach in the country. The group expects to add six hotels within three to four years which include a 40-room property in Goa, a 150-room property in Kochi and 250-room properties in Pune, Kolkata and Jaipur. Investments worth Rs 1,000 crore have been earmarked for expansion.
