Noida: The Gautam Budh Nagar district hospital has come to the aid of children with special need and parents launched a centre called Roshni.
The goal of the centre, run in association with the Pushpalata Foundation, is to limit the physiological and psychological effects of the childhood illness and improve overall mobility and abilities so that the children can perform daily activities with ease.
However inaugurated by Rama Raman, chief executive officer, Noida Authority on Wednesday, it is the first centre of its kind providing healthcare for children with special needs.
Currently located at sector 39, the facility is expected to be shifted to the multispecialty Dr Ambedkar district hospital being constructed in sector 30.
Under the care of pediatric neurologist Dr Rekha Mittal, the centre is located in room numbers 22 and 31 of the district hospital.
The centre is open daily between 8am and 2pm. New-born children as well as children up to the ages 15 years can be brought to the hospital for treatment. The centre is equipped for screening and treating any significant neuro-developmental difficulties.
