Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir government has kicked off Rs 10 crore Integrated Project for Development of Wool and Woollen Design.
Along with this a Development Centre has also been set up to promote the wool industry in the state.
The Centre, which has been sanctioned under Prime Minister's Economic Reconstruction Plan, was inaugurated by State Industries and Commerce Minister S S Slathia yesterday.
However the project comprises phase I and Phase II. First phase envisages yarn preparation waving product development, design development, training, testing and setting up a centre for wool development in the state.
