Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Olympic Association decided to appoint 40 coaches in different sports disciplines on three years contract with the support of Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association.
The coaches, who would be paid Rs 5000 per month, would be appointed for coaching in shooting, wrestling, athletics, boxing, basketball, taekwondo, football, weight lifting, judo, volleyball, hockey and table tennis and directly work under the respective sport associations.
The increase in remunerations would depend on performance of the coaches who would be monitored by HPOA. On the other hand HPOA also decided to honour and felicitate all the sportspersons who brought laurels to the state by winning medals in national and international meets.
