Patna: The State Cabinet has finally given its nod to hand over two quarters of the irrigation pool to B D College, a constituent unit of Magadh University, for further expansion of the college campus.
These quarters, located adjacent to the college, are in a dilapidated condition. The college had urged the state government earlier to allot these two quarters to it for expanding its campus, said college principal Sita Ram Singh.
According to Singh, about 5,000 students are enrolled in the college for degree level and vocational courses. The college is imparting teaching in Arts, Science and Commerce streams. The present campus of the college is not sufficient to cope with increasing load of academic activities, he said and added the college has prepared a blueprint for its expansion and improving the academic ambience on the campus.
