Panaji: The government has proposed a film city at Dhurbhat in Ponda taluka and an amusement park at Quepem taluka to boost the film and tourism industries.
These two projects reflect in the recently notified taluka plans of Ponda and Quepem.
"We have indicated the area for the film city at Dhurbhat plateau and also indicated an amusement park at Quepem based on the recommendation of the local body," said TCP senior town planner S T Puttaraju.
However the government has identified 4 lakh sq m on Dhurbhat plateau.
TCP has also provided an access road to the hill side. TCP officials claim that this will boost the economic activities in that area.
Similarly, the government has also identified a place to set up an amusement park in the Quepem taluka plan. However, this was not the part of draft regional plan. TCP senior town planner has said that the amusement park was recommended by the local body hence it was not figured in draft regional plan.
