Visakhapatnam regains All-India major ports hockey championship
 

Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam regained the all-India major ports hockey championship after a gap of 18 years, beating last time winner Chennai 5-2 in the last round-robin match of the 32nd edition of the tournament at the Port stadium.

Mumbai blanked Paradeep 6-0. Where as Chennai beat Tuticorin 4-0.

The following received special awards: P. Ramesh Kumar (VPT) for best forward; Ahijit Shirsat (Mumbai) for best defender; A.S.M. Krishnan (Chennai) for best half and Manik Haibru (Paradeep) for best goalkeeper.
