VBU plans teaching in nine tribal languages
 

Hazaribag: Vinobha Bhave University (VBU) is all set to start teaching of nine tribal languages in the university headquarters as well as constituent colleges functioning under it.

The subjects include Khortha, Santhali, Mundari, Ho, Khadra, Kurukh, Nagpuri and several other subjects.

The decision was taken to encourage teaching of tribal languages of the region which will not only popularize the language among the tribal community but also encourage people of other communities to know about tribal languages, which might help them in doing research work on the tribal people.

Thus with a view to promote and spread teachings of tribal languages, VBU authorities have decided to move the state government for creating new posts as well as sanctioning more posts of professors, readers, teachers and lecturers.

Not only tribal subjects, VBU has also decided to start teaching social science and human rights in the post graduate section of VBU with immediate effect. It has moved the state government for sanctioning the above two subjects in the university and also some of the constituent colleges functioning.
