Kanpur: The auspicious Navratra of Goddess Durga has begun from Monday. Various incarnations of the goddess will be worshipped during his holy period.
The onset of `Navratras' will also mark the beginning of new `Vikram Samvatsar' (new Hindu calender). The new calendar according to astrologists will be good for the yield and make countrymen stand up against the prevailing corruption. The commencing year will set public ire against the government, according to fortune-tellers.
Tuesday and Wednesday will mark the second and third day of Navratra when the `Brahmcharni' and `Chandraghanta' would be worshipped, the Goddess is believed to bless her devotees with peace of mind after forgiving all their sins whosoever, comes to her with true faith.
Similarly, on Thursday and Friday, `Maa Kushmanda' and `Skandhmata' will be worshipped. Saturday would see devotees offering prayers to `Katyayni Mata'. On Sunday and Monday (of the next week), `Mata Kalratri' and `Maha Gauri' would be worshipped. The ninth day of Navratra would see devotees worshipping `Maa Siddhtdatri'. It is on this day (Tuesday); the festival of `Ramnavmi' would be celebrated.
Meanwhile, the markets and temples are decked up for the festive occasion.
