Shillong: The Meghalaya government is going to set up a Basin Development Council aimed at drawing multi-faceted benefit from natural resources, particularly river basins.
The Council will be headed by Chief Minister Mukul Sangma and would comprise of all the ministers of the line departments, while the Basin Development Authority would be headed by the chief secretary, officials said today.
Units will also be constituted up to the district and block levels which would implement the programmes.
