Jaipur: City's low floor buses will now be equipped with high definition cameras and global positioning system (GPS).
Security cameras and GPS will be installed in 246 low floor buses. Passengers will now feel more secure as pick-pocketing, eve-teasing and harassment cannot go unnoticed now. The GPS will enable buses to move on its routes on time.
Officials at JCTL believe revenue of buses is expected to get a boost with the help of cameras. The JCTL will also launch air-conditioned low floor buses in the next week. Cherry red colour buses will cover all routes in the city, including major tourist destinations. The minimum fare for these buses will be Rs 5 and will increase after every five kilometres.
