Gurgaon: Art lovers had a gala time on Sunday evening enjoying a jugalbandi of live painting and music. T
he event, 'Canvas and Chords', had contemporary artist Tirthankar Biswas drawing a magnificent painting on the canvas, while in the background pianist Prabir Sekhri played jazz and blues.
The event was organized by Quill and Canvas, a bookstore and art gallery in Gurgaon. In a one-of-its-kind event, the audience sat in the background seeing the artist's imagination taking shape on the canvas.
Aptly reflecting the audience's mood, Biswas gave the title, 'Joy', to his theme painting which he drew in two hours.
Later, the painting was auctioned at the base price of Rs 75, 000. Sobha Sengupta, owner of the gallery and the show's organizer, informed that 20% of the proceedings would be donated to the Salaam Baalak Trust. She added that exhibition of Biswas' paintings would continue for a month.
