Tutor Rahman sets new goal for his music institute

Double Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman has ambitious plans to expand his state-of-the-art music conservatory in Chennai.

According to reports, Rahman is keen to move the institute to a much bigger campus. What's most interesting about the development is that Rahman is expected to approach the government of Tamil Nadu to help him take his dream project to the next level.

The report reveals, "Rahman's institute has already been garnering a lot of acclaim globally and there are requests to expand the institute so that more courses can be started or more students can be admitted for the courses that are already available. Even people from out of India have expressed their desire to learn music there. Rahman also provides free education to 30 underprivileged yet talented students and he wants to lend out his helping hand to more such individuals."

The report adds, "The current location, though it has enough space for the time-being, will not be sufficient for all the aspirations that Rahman has. He is toying with the idea of moving to a new and a bigger location with a bigger faculty including international heavyweights as guest lecturers. For this, he would definitely need the help of the state government. The Tamil Nadu government has time and again reportedly expressed its desire to help the Mozart of Madras in whatever way it can. And might be very keen to join hands with Rahman, for this good cause."
