New Delhi : Waking up to the misuse of the 'Incredible India' logo, Tourism Ministry on Aug 25 said those doing so will face legal and penal action.
'Incredible India' is a copyright and a registered trademark of the Ministry of Tourism and any display of it without due permission of the ministry can invite legal and penal action, a senior ministry official said.
Some information centres, travel agents, tour operators, individuals with an intention to misrepresent, misguide and cheat the tourists have been using the logo in an unauthorised way without taking any prior permission from the Tourism Ministry.
Furthermore, some service providers, who are not approved by the ministry or any other agency of government are displaying 'Govt of India approved' phrase in an unauthorised way.
