Kolkata-based i-nova Group launches travel portal for end consumers

New Delhi : Kolkata-based i-Nova Group has launched a travel portal for end consumers- Mytravo.com. Launching the B2C portal in Delhi recently, Rajib Mukherjee, Managing Director, i-Nova Group said that the Group is looking at gaining eight-ten per cent share of the total online and offline travel market in India in the next five years.

Speaking about the products offered on the B2C portal, Mytravo.com, Mukherjee mentioned that the portal has the highest number of hotels - 4,500 domestic and 25,000 international - all the key cruise operators, luxury coaches, car rental companies, etc. "We also promote tour packages for both FIT and Group. We will bring out signature packages in the next three to four months," added Mukherjee. The portal will offer other travel services including passport and Visa processing, foreign exchange, travel insurance etc. Besides, the portal will also offer White Labelling opportunities to travel agents who cannot afford to create their own inventories in terms of hotels and travel packages.

The Group will be operating through four different channels - B2B, B2C, CTM (Corporate Travel Management), and White Labeling. Mukherjee said that the Corporate travel portal which is currently under development will be launched in the next six months. "The Corporate travel portal that we are developing is one of its kinds and will certainly change the way corporate travel is being conducted in the country today. We have almost three decade of experience in the travel business. We understand that there's a huge gap in terms of demand and supply in the travel solutions sector in India," added Mukherjee.

When asked about their B2B expansion plans, Mukherjee said that the Group plans to establish about 5,000 franchisee stores across India by 2015. At least ten to 12 stores will be opened in select Tier I cities by the end of this financial year. However, he said that the expansion would be purely through franchisee model.
