Intex technologies have announced its decision to hike the prices of its IT hardware peripherals by 5 percent-8 percent in the country. The affected peripherals include TFT LCD monitors and computers. The prices for some of the products have already been increased and for the rest, it will become effective from September 1.
Intex has a sizeable presence in the domestic PC peripherals sector and its portfolio of products includes multimedia speakers, UPS, headphones, cabinets, keyboard, mouse and the likes. According to Intex, this price hike will partially absorb the cost increases on account of various factors such as global increase in major raw material costs including that of copper, aluminium, steel and plastics. It also cites the doubling up of shipping freight and component costs on account of appreciation of Chinese Yuan and depreciation of the Indian Rupee to be a reason for this price hike.
