Kanpur : In an endeavour to improve quality of education and give momentum to 'vidyadaan', the district authorities launched its much publicised 'Book Rath' on Aug 25.
On its one month trip, the 'book rath' will circulate in every secondary and higher secondary and intermediate school to develop interest for book reading in students.
"This book rath will stay in every school for one day and the students will be informed about the 'book rath' ahead of its visit so that they can bring the amount to buy books," informed district magistrate Mukesh Meshram. The books have been priced very nominally, with the cheapest being of Rs 10 while the highest cost of the books is Rs 380.
Books on various topics like environment, history, great personalities will be on sale. The prime object is to encourage book reading in children and thus improve quality of education by enhancing the power of imagining.
