Mumbai: South Africa-based Southern Sun Hotels has appointed Mumbai-based Global Destinations as their representatives in India with effect from August 1, 2010. Currently, Southern Sun Hotels operates 57 hotels in South Africa under three, four and five star categories.
The company is looking at tapping leisure, MICE, sports and business travellers from India. It also operates properties in the Middle East and Seychelles. Global Destinations will mainly create awareness about Southern Sun Hotels on a pan-India basis along with undertaking marketing strategies.
Speaking with reporters, Pranav Kapadia, Director, Global Destinations said, "We will soon have a meeting in which we will decide on the strategies needed to be adopted in the Indian market. We will also undertake hand holding for Southern Sun Hotels where rates will be applicable as per the rates given by inbound operators."
