After Abhijeet Sawant, Meiyang Chang and Neha Sargam, Tia Kar will be the fourth Indian Idol contestant to get an offer for acting in films. The charming teenager who wooed her fans with her looks more than her vocal talent is all poised to act in two big banner films featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Vidya Balan, Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone.

In fact, time and again during the contest all the three judges have spoken about her charming looks more than her voice. According to a report, the airhostess-turned-singer-now-turned-actress has been selected for two key roles in Pehli Baar Pyar Kiya Hai and Happy Christmas. While the first one is directed by Sridhar Shetty and stars Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra (both of them pairing after a very long time) and Vidya Balan, and also a newcomer Mayur Kapoor, the second is directed by Aziz Mirza and stars Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone.

Tia confirmed the development and said, "Yes, I have been selected for both the films. In Pehli Baar Pyaar Kiya Hai, I play Amitabh Bachchan's daughter and in Happy Christmas I play the role of an angel. The films are expected to go on floors from November and I should start shooting by the end of this year."

Does that mean her singing career is going to take a backseat now? "Definitely not! I will continue singing and practicing. However, whenever I will get a good role in films, I will do it. But it has to be a meaningful role and one that makes an impact," explains Tia.
