Mussoorie : Ilbert Manor, Mussoorie, a luxury heritage boutique property situated on a height of 7,000 ft in the Garhwal Hills is now fully operational. The hotel built in 1840, was bought by Ashok Pasricha, MD, Dino Resorts in 2002, after which it went through complete renovation, refurbishment and restoration. The heritage hotel has 17 rooms and two F&B outlets.
Devika Pasricha, Vice President, Ilbert Manor said, "We used to visit the hotel and it was a summer house for us. Before we took over the place, it used to run as all suites lodge. After completing spa management course from London, I thought of venturing into the hospitality business and at the same time decided to convert the house into a heritage hotel."
The hotel has three categories of rooms: 15 Imperial rooms, victorian and suites and the rest two are cottages. Pasricha said, "Targeted to leisure clients and honeymooners, we have completely re-done the entire property. We have a terrace caf‚ 'Caf‚ Gregory' and multi-cuisine restaurant 'Hersey Hall'. We have deliberately not numbered the rooms but have named as Everest, John Lang, McKinnon, Pahari Wilson and many others whose portraits and history captures the heritage of Mussoorie and of our hotel."
