Mumbai : According to a report, hotels in Himachal Pradesh are experiencing 30-35 per cent increase in occupancy compared to previous years. Due to protests in Jammu and Kashmir, there has been a surge in tourist footfalls in Himachal Pradesh hill stations like Shimla, Manali, Dalhousie and Dharamsala. This information was given by Yogesh Behl, General Manager, Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC).
Behl said, "Most tourists are opting for this hill state after cancelling their bookings in Srinagar and its nearby tourist spots. Even at our information centres, we are getting enquiries from tourists who now wish to visit the Himachal hills due to the frenzy in Kashmir." He also said that HPTDC's hotels in Shimla and Manali are getting good bookings.
